AFREA Annual General Meeting 2022


We have finalized the agenda and are confirming content speakers for the 2022 AGM to be hosted on Thursday, February 10, 2022 beginning at 8:30 am. We are using Zoom virtual technology to bring the conference to our members again this year. The difference for 2022 is that staff are more proficient at running the meetings using Zoom so we are not out-sourcing hosting this year. Voting will be using the polling feature in Zoom that gives voting delegates the option of voting anonymously on a prompted question. We are able to give an accumulative response to carry a motion. Voting is still available via mail-in or drop-off ballot as per our current bylaws for alternative voting measures.

Sign-in using the Zoom link provided on Tuesday, February 8th emailed to all registered participants, will begin at 8:00 am. Staff will be monitoring attendance against REA registration lists and admitting those who have confirmed their registration. Registration forms have been distributed with the Call to Conference invitation. A delegate may sign in using a computer or via phone. We will ask all callers for name identification for our records. 

Programs are now complete and being printed - copies will be mailed to all directors next week. The value of your AGM is evident in your attendance The AFREA provides updates to current and ongoing projects as well as necessary business required under legislation. You are given an opportunity to provide your comments and input and that two-way communication is vital in a membership organization. Your AGM is an opportunity to be part of a conversation that is about working together. We hope to see you there!
