The site is intended to provide you (the “User”) with information on programs and services offered by the Alberta Federation of REAs Ltd. (“AFREA”). The AFREA is committed to providing visitors with a website that respects their privacy. Use of this site implies acceptance of the AFREA Privacy Policy and Users are responsible for protecting their personal information.
This site may contain links to other sites. The AFREA is not responsible for the content and the privacy practices of other sites and encourages Users to read the privacy policy of each site visited before proceeding. The site is set up in some areas to warn Users they are leaving our site and going to another. We cannot provide any guarantee of that site’s safety.
The AFREA monitors this website to identify unauthorized attempts to replace or change information or otherwise cause damage. We make no attempt to link this information with the identity of individuals visiting our site unless an attempt to damage the site is detected. For each visitor to our web site, our web server automatically recognizes and collects User domain names but not email addresses. Logged information is not disclosed outside of the AFREA personnel or those under Consulting Contract Agreements to conduct maintenance to web server components. The logs are permanently archived as raw research data. The logs may not be accessed, opted out of, or changed by server users. Such information is used to compile comparative statistics such as how many users accessed what pages and for how long. This invaluable information is used to determine content usage and allows us to upgrade our site for optimum efficiency. We do not partner with or have special relationships with ad server companies; your information in whatever form will not be sold or given to anyone else, nor used in any way except for the purpose intended.
Some websites store information in small text files called a “cookie” on your hard drive. Cookies contain information about you and your preferences such as a record of pages visited within the sites. This helps customize the view for you the next time you visit. Only the information you provide or the choices you make while visiting a website can be stored in a cookie. For example, the site cannot determine your email address unless you choose to provide it. Allowing a website to create a cookie does not give that or any other site access to the rest of your computer and only the site that creates a cookie can read it. Cookies can be enabled/disabled by selecting Tools> Internet Options. Select the Security tab and then select Custom Level. The cookie settings will be displayed in the Security Settings dialog box. You have the choice whether or not to accept cookies; however, disabling cookies may cause some features to not work as intended. This web site uses cookies to record session information.
User information (such as name, address, phone number, email) provided to us via email or in a feedback form, is personal information and will be used only to process and respond to your questions, comments, or requests. This information will not be disclosed except to authorized personnel. Your information, once it reaches our office, is handled in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). Users must be aware, however, that transmission of this information is not always secure. If you have any questions or wish to contact us directly, please call the number listed above.
